| “My favorite part of looking at a deal is the numbers. I enjoy evaluating trends in a company’s historical performance. It often tells a story about the company, industry, and general macroeconomic environment, and allows you to forecast a company's ability to repay debt. I also enjoy pricing bonds. Triangulating a bond price allows me to delve further into the quantitative aspects of a deal and develop a broad understanding of capital markets. These quantitative elements incorporate both data analysis and investigative research, which are the elements I enjoyed most about scientific research.

Prudential Capital Group’s analyst program has enabled me to improve so many skills, including my writing, modeling, financial statement analysis and communication skills. I have been given many responsibilities in my first year as an analyst, and have had the opportunity to contribute to investment decisions and interface directly with clients. This position has provided me with so much more exposure to business and finance than I ever thought I would get in an investment analyst program. I now know that I want to stay in finance, and that there is a lot of opportunity in this industry for the kind of research and analytical work I enjoy doing.” |
